The University of Oulu Scholarship Foundation

The University of Oulu Scholarship Foundation was established in 1960. The purpose of the Foundation is to support and promote the research and other activities of the University and its Student Union. The Foundation allocates 150 000 – 250 000 euros annually, mainly as grants for doctoral studies at the University of Oulu.The Foundation consists of 25 donor funds. Their proceeds are allocated to support research work in the scientific fields defined in the deeds of donation or testamentary dispositions.

The Foundation is administered and represented by a Board of ten members consisting of the Rector and the Vice Rectors of the University of Oulu as well as representatives of trade, industry and the public sector.

The assets of the Foundation consist of donated initial capital accrued through donations, bequests, fund raising and other activities.
